According to an announcement by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from March 15 to 17, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong, and Minister of National Defense Dong Jun will visit Vietnam at the invitation of the Vietnamese side to attend the first ministerial meeting of the China–Vietnam "3+3" Strategic Dialogue Mechanism on diplomacy, national defense, and public security.

The "3+3" dialogue mechanism marks an important step in strengthening strategic cooperation and mutual trust between the two countries. During the visit, Foreign Minister Wang Yi will also co-chair with Vietnamese leaders the 17th meeting of the China–Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, aimed at promoting comprehensive cooperation in multiple fields.
