At the beginning of the new year, encouraging news arrived from Sulawesi, Indonesia, a key hub along the Maritime Silk Road. On January 6, 2026, the Phase II Zhongqing New Energy Project at CNGR's Morowali Industrial Base—equipped with core systems and equipment provided by Liming Heavy Industry—successfully produced its first batch of ferronickel from Production Line No. 6.
This milestone marks the full realization of an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of nickel metal, injecting strong momentum into the global green supply chain for new energy materials.

Strengthening Collaboration to Overcome Key Challenges in Green Smelting
The Phase II Zhongqing New Energy Project represents a strategic step for CNGR in building a globalized, integrated new energy materials supply chain. The project adopts the internationally advanced Oxygen-Enriched Side-Blown Furnace (OESBF) smelting technology, enabling efficient processing of laterite nickel ore with lower energy consumption and reduced carbon emissions.
However, the OESBF process places extremely stringent requirements on pulverized coal preparation. Parameters such as particle size, moisture content, and conveying stability directly affect furnace temperature control and nickel recovery rates. Even minor deviations can impact both safety and overall production efficiency.
Building on the success and trust established in Phase I, CNGR once again selected Liming Heavy Industry to deliver this critical system.
