Introduction

Prebaked anodes are made from petroleum coke and tar coke as aggregates, and coal tar pitch as a binder. They are mainly used as anode material in electrolysis cells for the production of aluminum with prebaked anodes. These carbon blocks, already baked, have a stable geometric shape and are called prebaked anode blocks. It is an essential material in the aluminum smelting industry, as the production of one ton of aluminum requires approximately 600 kg of prebaked anodes, with very high consumption during the electrolysis process.
